This is by far my favorite place to go in Lafayette. The prime rib is amazing and the steaks (especially the New York Strip) are to die for. I love the salad wheel that comes to your table since I am picky about what I want on my salad. The desserts are great too, though they always bring the dessert tray to the table when I am too full to eat anymore. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves food that is made fresh, and not from a bag or box like most other restaurants.
I took my son to dinner @ the Lafayette Mountain Jacks on 11/21/08. Not only was the food great, but the service was outstanding - that Mark is great. I am from Chicago and was almost convinced that we would never see great service in Lafayette after having been to many local Lafayette restaurants where the service level stinks, or it has some corporate-canned message. Thank you for at least one great restaurant in Lafayette.

Good steaks and my dad’s favorite mashed potatos. The salad weel is also very nice
i drive in from Champaign once every month or two to dine at Mountain Jack’s. Some of the best food you will find. Axl Rose has dined there when he was back in Lafayette too, and for me thats very cool!
