- Restaurants in Lafayette (96)
- Restaurants in West Lafayette (55)
- Restaurants in Surrounding Communities (8)
We consider restaurants “casual” when dressing up (suit/dress) is not required, and dinner for 4 adults generally won’t exceed $60.00 (excluding cocktails/beer and tip). Casual restaurants that consider themselves steakhouses, or specialize in seafood, may run a little more expensive. These lists include the new “quick casual” restaurant concept, but do not include traditional “fast food” chain restaurants. Last update: 8/9/2008

- Coffee Houses near Purdue and around Lafayette-West Lafayette
Greater Lafayette has a number of traditional “coffee houses” in addition to shops and stands where you can grab a quick cup of joe to go. If you’re jonesing for a caffeine fix, never fear, you’re most likely within 5 minutes of gourmet coffee. - Dining in Downtown Lafayette
The “Downtown” area includes Wabash Landing and the Levee area in West Lafayette, and from the Wabash River east to Ninth Street in Lafayette. There are a wide variety of dining options in the downtown area. From authentic French cuisine, to Turkish, and everything in between, there is definitely a restaurant to suit every palette. - Mexican Cuisine
Greater Lafayette’s burgeoning Hispanic community has blessed us with several excellent restaurants that feature authentic dishes and desserts. In addition to the fantastic, authentic establishments, we also have a number of Tex-Mex and Americanized Mexican establishments. - Pizza Places
College towns generally have an abundance of pizza joints, and Lafayette-West Lafayette is no exception. We have your standard allotment of chains, but we also have a nice selection of family owned local places. If you’re new to town, or visiting for a bit, try to make time to stop by Arni’s or Bruno’s — they both have a large fan base! - Steakhouses
We have a few very well known steakhouses in town. These places tend to be a little spendier than your average “American Cuisine” restaurant, but who doesn’t expect that when you’re going out for a fine cut of beef? In addition to our homegrown establishments, Lafayette also sports the usual cadre of chains. - Bars & Taverns
Does this category need a whole lot of explanation? I’m guessing no. We’re a college town, and therefore, we have lots of bars.
